Pierre Poilievre confirmed

On January 31, 2026, Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre was confirmed as Party Leader at the Calgary Party Convention with an 87.4% vote, the highest ever for a national leader, demonstrating strong support and unity.

It is a great time to be a Conservative in Canada, and to feel that one is on the right side of history. We recognize that we have always lived in an unstable world; the dark side has always been there. Yet the human story is one of repeated victories over adversity, sometimes at great cost. Every generation is called to defend the good within the unique challenges of their time.

Pierre Poilievre concluded his Convention speech with a call to action, inspiring us all to stay committed to our shared goals and values.

“So why keep going? Because we want our kids to have the same promise that we had. Because we want them to know that when you care about something, you work for it; when you believe in something, you fight for it. And most of all, when you start something, you never give up.

Because the unsung heroes who built and protect this country, who have it infinitely harder than I do, they never give up, so I have no right to give up. Because all of you who pound signs on frozen ground, knock doors on dark nights and sacrifice warm family dinners for cold campaign pizza, you never give up, so I’ll never give up. Because the young couple scrimping to start a family, and the single mother fighting each day to feed her kids, they never give up, so we never give up.

Because the Canadian Pacific Railway workers who pounded spikes into frozen ground and forged steel ribbon that united east and west, they never gave up, so we never give up. Because the Canadian teenagers living in frozen, rat-infested trenches, who had it infinitely harder than we do, they fought on, they never gave up, and they won wars, so we will never give up on our country in these times.

Canadians don’t give up, because our country is worth fighting for, as are its people and its promise. Because we are Canadians. Only Canadians could carve the world’s best country out of a big, cold, vast land. Because we never give up. We never back down. We never run away. We stand united tonight, together, always, because this country, its people and promise are worth fighting for. Because while some say this is as good as it gets, we know the best is yet to come. Thank you !”

Poilievre inspired with both personality and sound national policy. Party Members from across the country voted on a renewed Policy Declaration document that is the answer to much of Canada’s dismal social predicament and economic gloom. Within a few weeks, that comprehensive updated document will be available at - conservative.ca.

General principles guide the Conservative Party:

• A belief in a balance between fiscal responsibility and compassionate social policy that empowers the less fortunate by promoting self-reliance and equality of opportunity, and the rights and obligations of individuals, families, and free associations.

• The goal of building a national coalition of people who share these beliefs and who reflect the regional, cultural and socio-economic diversity of Canada.

• The goal of developing this coalition is to embrace our differences and respect our traditions, yet honour a concept of Canada as the greater sum of strong parts.

Conservatives are ready to collaborate with any Member of Parliament to get Canada working and earning. All parliamentarians must unite and support the Conservative rescue plan with resolve to secure a prosperous united Canada.

Thanks for advising. I like the issue of policy before personality. Justin seemed at first to have some star power personality, but soon it was revealed that he was no nation builder or wise Prime Minister. Economically, it is now revealed that banker Carney is worse. The repair to Canada will be hard, as the offences, cheating, corruption, and wrong-headed ideology has deeply hurt our nation.
