4 Lies You Should Quit Believing About Your Success
Refuse to live by these lies any longer.

Adapted from by Adonis Lenzy
In order to move forward in your journey, and live the life you sometimes imagine, you will have to stop believing the lies that bombard your mind from time to time. What you believe has the potential to move you into your positive dreams, or stop you from ever trying to reach something that you are passionate about.

People will often sit and entertain those little lies that run through their minds until they actually believe them. Some have been told all of their life by friends, co-workers, or even relatives, that they simply don’t have what it takes to be successful or reach that far-fetched dream.

Sadly, they grew up believing those painful, hurtful words and never even dreamed of doing anything more with their lives.  They bought into the lie for many years, and it cost them their dreams and fulfillment.

If you are ready to start moving forward and getting closer to your reasonable dream, then you have to stop believing every lie that is sabotaging your future.  Stop letting your thoughts run down the road of negativity.  Refuse to live by the deceptions any longer.  Here are four lies you should quit believing about your fulfillment.

1. "It’s too late for you to be successful."
If you continue to believe that it’s too late for you, then you will never develop enough enthusiasm to even begin the endeavor.  You have quit before you started.
People buy into the lie that it’s too late, or that they have missed the boat, and it will never come around again.  They simply quit trying, because they think they are too old to go after the goals and dreams of their youth.  That couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s not too late now, and it won’t be too late a year from now, as long as you still have breath in your body.  It’s never too late to start moving.  You always have the choice to start right now, wherever you are, and begin to go after those lifelong dreams.
The reality is that sometimes the older we get, the more aware we are of the things that we have yet to accomplish.  Those unfulfilled goals that we have tucked away, begin to make their way back to the surface of our consciousness, and begin to stare us in the face.  Sometimes we react in panic, fear, or avoidance, at the thought of never obtaining them.

These feelings can easily turn into hopelessness.  How you respond will produce the result.  You can have a feeling of being stuck and continue to settle into a mediocre lifestyle, or you can choose to believe that your next step will start you on a wonderful journey of reaching your dreams in life.

It’s not too late for you.  Start now.  Take action now.  Get up and get going in the direction of your dreams, and get ready for the ride of a lifetime. It’s never too late to start over.  If you weren’t happy with yesterday, try something different today! Don’t stay stuck.  Do better.

2. "Success is only for others."
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the success of others.  When this happens, you usually start comparing your current situation to their highlight reel.  You only see their success and don’t see their early days of struggle.

Every successful person has an unsuccessful story that eventually led him or her to a life of success.  They are regular everyday people that refused to believe the lie that success was not for them.  They simply never gave up.  It is called tenacity.

Success is for anyone who will do what it takes to make it happen.  The truth is that you can be successful if you set your mind to it and believe that you can.  And by all means, stop comparing yourself to other people!

3. "Success will happen on its own."
Success at anything takes work, work, work and then more work.  Nothing will happen if you just sit around all day waiting for good fortune to fall into your lap. Many are just not willing to work.

Being a success means you have to get out there and hustle every day.  That’s right, every day you have to make the connections, do the tasks, attack your to-do list, stay focused, and follow-through, just to wake up and do it all over again the next day. Intelligent hard work pays off in the end.  Go ahead and roll up those sleeves and get after it.

It is good to dream, but it is better to dream and work.  Faith is mighty, but action with faith is mightier.  Desiring is helpful, but work and desire are invincible.

4. "You’ve made too many mistakes to be successful."
This is a pretty big one.  If you’re like most people, there are probably some things in your past that you’re not proud of.  These could be things that you hope no one ever finds out.  Regardless, your past is your past and you must stop believing that your past mistakes can stop your success.  Just never make those mistakes again.  Don’t let your past be your present habit.

Your past is behind you for a reason; that’s why it’s called your past.  Quit looking back and start looking forward.  Some people spend so much emotional energy trying to change or cover up things that have happened in their past.  If you’re one of these people, get free you of this.  No amount of emotional energy can ever change what happened in your past.  Instead of being threatened by your past, decide to let your past be your present educator. Learn from it and become wiser in your endeavor to reach your dreams.

Quit believing this major lie.  Hold your head up high, and get ready for the next thing in your life.  There is a future beyond your failures.  Whatever you do, keep moving forward. There is no option for you to quit and throw in the towel.  Quitting will get you more of what you already have, and you don’t want to settle for that.  Your determination will be the driving force that will get you through the hardships, setbacks, and difficult times that you will no doubt encounter on your journey toward your dream of success.  Face them and reach for the life you’ve been dreaming about.

It’s time to quit believing the lies and start believing that you can.  Yes, you can!

Believe in yourself.  Believe in your dream.  Believe you have what it takes in order to be successful.  Believe that it’s not too late.  Believe that your past is behind you and your future is ahead of you.

You have the power and the ability to decide today and start the amazing journey of going from where you are to where you want to be.  All you have to do is start.
